Itsuki Sushi Information

Tucked along N Jerusalem Rd in East Meadow, Itsuki Sushi feels like one of those neighborhood spots that quietly builds a loyal following through consistency and care rather than flash. The location is easy to reach, with convenient parking nearby, and from the outside it looks modest, but stepping in reveals a clean, cozy dining room that leans more toward relaxed comfort than upscale formality.

The menu is where things start to get interesting. It covers the expected sushi staples-nigiri, sashimi, and a long list of specialty rolls-but there’s also a thoughtful selection of hot dishes that makes it appealing even for diners who aren’t strictly sushi fans. On one visit, the salmon avocado roll stood out for its freshness, with fish that tasted clean and buttery rather than overly fishy, a good sign that the kitchen prioritizes quality sourcing. The spicy tuna roll had a balanced kick without drowning the fish in sauce, which is something many places tend to overdo.

Beyond sushi, the kitchen turns out solid teriyaki and tempura dishes. The shrimp tempura, in particular, came out light and crisp, not greasy, which speaks to proper oil temperature and technique. Portions are fair for the price point, aligning with what you’d expect in Nassau County, and the presentation is neat without feeling overly styled.

Service here tends to match the food-reliable and unfussy. Staff are attentive without hovering, and orders come out at a steady pace even during busier dinner hours. On a recent evening, the server was quick to offer recommendations when asked, suggesting a house specialty roll that ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. It’s the kind of place where regulars are recognized, and newcomers are made to feel comfortable.

Looking at reviews across popular platforms, the restaurant consistently earns solid ratings, often praised for freshness and value. While it may not aim for the high-end omakase experience you’d find in Manhattan, it delivers what most people are actually looking for on a weeknight: dependable sushi, a varied menu, and a welcoming atmosphere.

There are moments where the experience can depend on timing-like many local spots, peak hours might mean a slightly longer wait-but nothing that feels out of the ordinary. Overall, Itsuki Sushi fits neatly into that category of reliable neighborhood sushi restaurants that you end up returning to not because it’s trendy, but because it quietly gets the essentials right every time.

What People's Say About Place

If you are looking for the freshest, highest-quality sushi on Long Island, look no further than Itzuki Sushi. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. This has officially become our absolute go-to spot, and for good reason. The staff here is truly amazing—attentive, welcoming, and they always make sure the experience is top-notch. Why it’s a 5-star experience: • Unbeatable Freshness: You can tell immediately that they prioritize quality. Every piece of sashimi and every specialty roll tastes incredibly fresh and vibrant. • Fantastic Flavors: The menu is creative and consistent. Whether you’re a fan of the classics or looking for a unique signature roll, everything is executed to perfection. • The Vibe: The atmosphere is great, but it’s the amazing staff that really sets Itzuki apart. They make every meal feel special. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the service are equally outstanding, but Itzuki nails it every time. Highly, highly recommend!

The sushi and sashimi was excellent, and the staff was friendly and nice. It is great quality for the price. I ordered the firecracker roll, dragon roll, and sashimi regular (16 pieces of sashimi), and fried red bean ice cream. Both of the rolls were generous in size and flavorful, the sashimi was fresh and generous as well. It's great to have a good sushi place in East Meadow. My orders came with a side of salad and miso soup - I didn't want to have it at that time so the server (on her own accord) decided to pack it for me to go. That was very sweet and kind. The staff was very nice. The server kept checking in on me in the nicest way to make sure I had everything. The fried red bean ice cream was just okay though. The tempura burst so it was soggy-ish. I think this was an exception though - because other people who have ordered it seemed to have gotten one which was whole with a crispy shell. Also, it may not look it, but they have plenty of seating hidden towards the side of the restaurant as well. Overall, great experience and I look forward to visiting again.

Excellent lunch spot hiding out amongst body shops and auto repair places. Good sushi, nice and attentive staff. Lunch and happy hour pricing is great too! Definitely recommend giving this place a try for either dine in or take out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I ordered takeout from this sushi place and everything was perfect! The fish was fresh, the rolls were beautifully made, and the flavors were amazing. The staff was friendly and my order was ready right on time. I’m definitely coming back for dine-in next time—can’t wait to enjoy the food fresh at the table. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving quality sushi!

My husband and have recently found this place and it has quickly become our go-to for sushi, tempura, Bento Box, and appetizers. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is extensive with healthy options available. We arrived earlier yesterday than we normally do and found they also have a very nice Happy Hour menu which includes both food and drink selections. A great way to try something at a lower price you might not normally try at dinner time.

Great spot for sushi in the area! The food is tasty, and they have some really good combo deals that are quite affordable for the quality. The layout of the restaurant is nice—comfortable and casual with a relaxed vibe, perfect for a quick bite or a longer meal with friends. One unique dish worth mentioning is the fried calamari. It’s not your typical calamari; they’re more like onion ring-sized pieces, but they’re still really tasty and crunchy. Overall, a solid choice for sushi with great prices. Definitely recommend giving it a try!
